How to Choose a Wedding Reception Venue

Posted on June 6, 2016 by admin

When planning a summer wedding, there are many different things that must be done. However, one of the first things you should do is reserve your function hall or venue. Consider these things before you choose your venue.

  1. Can I have my wedding ceremony there? The option to have your wedding ceremony and reception at the same venue is extremely practical and convenient for everyone involved. There is no need to drive to the reception since everything will be just steps away from the ceremony. There’s no chance of guests getting lost when your ceremony and reception are held at the same venue.
  2. Venue availability. When you decide on a wedding date, contact the venue or hall to ensure that they have your date available. Make sure that you verify the time you would like to reserve the venue. Ask about their cancellation policy in the event that you need to cancel or reschedule the day.
  3. Wedding reception setup. Request to view the room where the reception will be held so you can get an idea of how you’d like to set it up. You’ll want to make sure you have enough room for your guests, dancing, etc. Ask the venue manager if they have any sample wedding reception layouts that have worked in the past.
  4. What is included in the wedding reception venue price? When you first inquire about renting the venue, ask the manager what exactly is included in the price.
  5. Recommended vendors. There are various vendors that you will need for your wedding reception. Ask the manager if they have a list of recommended vendors that they have used for past wedding receptions.

Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life so don’t be scared to ask questions! Exchange Hall provides a space for both wedding ceremonies and receptions. To learn more about our venue or to schedule a viewing, contact us at 978-263-8500 or by filling out our contact form.

Planning a Baptism

Posted on May 11, 2016 by admin

Your baby’s baptism or christening is a special time with family and friends. The celebration after should continue to be a time to rejoice, but also to relax. Like any party planning can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.

  • Contact your church’s priest or minister to select a day for the baptism or christening to be held. Once you have a date, you can determine the hours of the party later.
  • Choose a function hall or venue that is close to where the baptism or christening is being held. Choose a venue that will accommodate your guest list.
  • When putting your guest list together, think about the number of kids and adults that will be attending. This will also help when it comes time to choose food and a menu for the day.
  • When it comes time to planning the menu, Exchange Hall is happy to recommend food and beverage vendors. Using a suggested vendor will take some stress off of you, knowing that your venue trusts the recommended company.
  • Make sure you take photos so you and your family are able to remember this day.

An occasion as important as a child’s baptism deserves a joy-filled celebration. With this checklist as your guide, you’ll be able to plan your party in no time and focus your attention on this beautiful moment in your family’s life. Spring Wedding Planning Tips

Posted on March 30, 2016 by admin

When we think of spring, we usually think of sunny days and blossoming flowers, but it also makes us think of wedding bells! Exchange Hall has put together a couple tips for our newly engaged couples that are looking to plan their spring wedding.

  1. It’s your special day, find a venue that will be flexible when you decorate. You want the reception to reflect your style.
  2. Typically, pastels are used when it comes to colors for spring weddings. If you’re tired of this, try something new! Pair your typical spring pastels with contrasting colors. You could try pink with brown, lavender with a bright green – the possibilities are endless! If pastels aren’t your cup of tea, try bright and bold colors. It all works.
  3. When choosing your venue for the reception, make sure the size of the room is appropriate for the number of people attending.

We hope these tips can help in planning your spring wedding! If you are interested in having your wedding reception or ceremony at Exchange Hall, call us today. We can be reached at 978-263-8500 or by filling out our contact form.

Planning Your Fall Wedding

Posted on December 10, 2015 by admin

Fall wedding season is a busy time for everyone involved; the couple, caterers and event hall owners. Fall weddings offer beautiful photo opportunities without the heat of the summer or the cold of the winter. We have some helpful tips for planning your fall wedding!

  • While fall weddings aren’t as cold as winter weddings, there still is the potential for it to get chilly for guests and those involved. If your wedding is to be set outside and the reception inside, offer blankets or shawls to keep guests warm.
  • To make the bride’s dress pop in photos, integrate fall colors for the wedding parties. Colors like brown or burgundy are great fall colors to compliment the white of the bride’s dress.
  • To make sure your wedding isn’t too indicative of Halloween, mix in gourds and squash with pumpkins when it comes to decorating. They can make great centerpieces for guests at the wedding!
  • For flowers, choose in-season flowers that will complement the fall wedding. Flowers such as roses, sunflowers, dahlias, asters, zinnias and chrysanthemums make for beautiful and elegant bouquets and centerpieces.
